How it Works

1. Choose your Kayak

We offer both double and single kayaks and they include paddles, backrests, life-jackets, a dry bag, a map, and car-topping equipment. It is a 6 hour rental but most people finish within 4-5 hours.

Single Kayak - $75

Our single kayak is the perfect option for groups with an odd number or for those who want to have their own kayak while exploring the beautiful rivers of Kauai.

Our double kayaks are great for couples or families. We can stack up to 3-4 kayaks per vehicle and we will show you how the set up works.

2. Book your reservation

Once you have booked your reservation online, simply follow the instructions on the confirmation email and arrive at our location in Kapaa at the time of your reservation. We will set you up with all your equipment, go through step-by-step instructions on navigating the river of your choosing, and help you load the kayak. Simply bring it back when you finish.

3. What we provide

We will set you up with all the equipment you will need for your kayak adventure! We include:

  • Life-jackets

  • Paddles

  • Adjustable Seats

  • Dry bags

  • A map

  • Car-friendly soft roof racks

  • Straps

4. Things to know about your rental

Due to State & County rules, all self-guided kayak rentals must be car-topped and brought to the river by guests. Things to note:

  • Must be able to lift 75 Ibs.

  • We will help load the kayak(s) onto your car with our soft roof racks and straps

  • Your kayak rental is a 6 hour rental and guests typically return the kayak within 4-5 hours.

5. Instructions and navigation

When we meet at our location in Kapaa, we will give you all the necessary directions and instructions for your kayak adventure. There are many beautiful rivers on Kauai and if you want to skip the crowd just ask for our suggestions.

Frequently asked questions

  • Our process is easy, car-safe, and able to work for almost all vehicles (even soft-tops).

    We provide car-friendly, high density foam blocks that go onto your rental vehicle and the kayak(s) will rest on those. Then we will strap it down with two straps over the kayak and through the inside of the doors.

    We can fit up to 3 kayaks on most cars and we can fit 4 kayaks on minivans and SUVs. We can also fit up to 2 kayaks on any convertible.

    We will show you how to do it all so you are comfortable loading and unloading when at the boat launch.

  • The kayak rental is a 6-hour rental, however most rentals last between 4-5 hours. If you would like to have your kayak rental for longer or less than the designated 6 hour slot, please just call (808) 278-7326 and we will arrange the pick-up time.

  • We will meet 10 minutes away from the Wailua River to load the kayak(s) onto your vehicle. This is due to State & County rules which prevent us from meeting you at the water's edge. When meeting, we will attach the kayak(s) to your car with our soft roof racks & straps that we provide.

    If you would like to take your kayak(s) elsewhere, just ask and we can recommend some other beautiful rivers and areas to kayak

  • We can typically fit up to 3 kayaks per vehicle. But for larger vans and SUV’s we can do 4. For smaller sedans, 1-2 kayaks are ideal. If you are unsure, just give Michael a call and he can give you some clarity (808) 278-7326
